New year, new blog

That's right people, I have succumbed to the commercial blog! Oh, woe is me!!! But seriously, I really wasn't maintaining the one I set up, my own laziness at fault more than any excuse I could try and come up with! But here we are, at least I'm still doing something huh? I have however c&p-ed the posts from the other blog, just to prove I HAD actually done something on it!

So onto work news, I'm currently in the process of (almost finished) a logo for ruby star creative, and even if I do say so myself, it is AWESOME!!! Most of the type is completely hand drawn (I do love Illustrator!) and of course the client has gone for PMS 485, the bright red that such companies as coca cola use...you'll see it soon enough, almost have approval! But yes, very excited about that!!!

I've had some set backs too though. Two Savvy fell through, apparently the two partners had too many differences, so even though I sweated over 3 fantastic logo ideas for them, they decided not to start the business :( win some lose some I guess. I've also now experienced my first client that decided to disappear when it came around to paying me time...yay.

As to the small amount of non design related things I'm interested in, I've made some new friends, which is always nice. Had a college reunion last week, where we all got rained on while we drank ridiculously expensive alcohol, and I went to the beach last week for the first time in four years! Yes, I did get burnt, but I had fun and I'm glad I took advantage of the nice weather we had before this constant rain started...not that I'm complaining, we really do need it, and it means it's not too big a deal if I forget to water the plants!

Right, well it seems InDesign has stopped having a tantrum, so back to it!

OLD POST - Wednesday 5th December 2007

Muah hahahahaha I finally got myself an ABN (had to set up a trading account etc etc, soooooo much paper work!!) so I can now invoice all those people that owe me mullah! YAY!

Also just finished reading the latest Terry Pratchett...highly amusing, though a little weaker than his precious books I found.

Went to MoS on Saturday, had an absolutely awesome time, really wish they held it more than once a year because it really goes too fast!

Anyway, back to work related things. I may have picked up another client, though they haven't really decided on a name yet, I'm working on logos for a couple. Can't tell you what they are in case one of you tries to nick it before these guys can choose which they want and get it registered. I will update you on progress as it occurs.

I also 'may' have completed the logo for ruby star creative. If it's approved I shall upload it toute suite to my folio so you can all once again marvel at how fantastic I really am! ;)

Just got the site up and running after a multitude of issues...always the way! But we're good to go now. Send me an email to let me know what you think!

Up and coming clients include ruby star creative, addicted to pixels and e-travel, and I'm hoping to get some more through my fantastic networking skills! Also I'll be doing some more stuff for the WASHHouse and Warrior Queen Design soon, so look out in the folio for that.

Better go and do some real work now..tschus!
